Public Procurement: Promising Results at TecnoSalud 2019

With the support of ProCórdoba Agency, eight Cordobese companies participated in Feria TecnoSalud 2019. The event took place in the city of Lima on September 4-6, and brought together renowned names from the healthcare sector from all regions of the Peruvian country.

After an assessment of Peru as a strategic market in the public procurement sector and, more specifically, for the healthcare sector, the Cooperation and International Relations Department encouraged firms to participate in the fair, in line with the actions it carries out as part of its Public Procurement Assistance and Training Program.

With the support of ProCórdoba Agency, eight Cordobese companies participated in the fair, showcasing their products at an international stand. The companies were LEISTUNG INGENIERÍA SRL, RAOMED SA, DERMACOR, CONSUMAN, SERVELEC SRL, TRENDEL, DENIMED and BITSION, and they also had the opportunity to take part in business rounds, where they established a first contact with the different Regional Directors of Peru.

Being the only Argentine businesses in the fair, they were a huge deal for Peru's public sector, because their presence allows the country to diversify providers and learn about the virtues of products and services offered by the Province of Córdoba — which stand out not only for their quality but also for the related post-sale services.

Visiting our stand were the Argentine Embassy to Peru, the Director of Perú Compras (the State's procurement office), distributors interested in representing our firms in the Peruvian market, hospital directors, healthcare professionals, and the public in general.

The event, according to participants, had promising results. Direct sales were finalized — as was the case for DENIMED —, supplier registries were updated, and new registries were prepared. Talking to SERVELEC, some Regional Directors showed a great interest in updating regulations pertaining to the monitoring of leakage currents in isolated lines (for electric power distribution in hospital wards). RAOMED, for its part, got to meet with institutions in charge of processing the necessary sanitary registrations for the firm to sell its custom-made products in the Peruvian market. Finally, as a result from the information gathered from the rounds, companies were able to evaluate potential buyers, regions with prospects of building hospitals, etc.

ProCórdoba Agency is deeply invested in the internationalization of SMEs in the healthcare sector, an industry in which around 80% of the demand is found in the public procurement market.

Working together with other institutions, we strive for accelerating processes and generating optimal communication channels to promote foreign trade.

ProCórdoba expresses its gratitude to companies for their participation!
