Another Year, Another Successful Trade Mission to Montevideo

The annual multi-sector trade mission to Montevideo, organized by ProCórdoba Agency, ended on a high note. The agenda had been prepared together with the Commercial Section of the Argentine Embassy to Uruguay.

This time around, the mission coincided with the "Argentine Week" in Montevideo, and participating in the delegation was ProCórdoba's Trade Promotion Manager Luis Gilli, who was present at the official events hosted by the Embassy in Montevideo.

The delegation comprised the following seven Cordobese companies:

1. FAESA, FABRICA ARGENTINA DE ELASTICOS SA,

2. ITALBO SRL

3. KUGELL SA

4. PATRIA MUEBLES

5. AQUAMAR

6. INSTITUTO BIOLOGICO CORDOBA SRL

7. AXONES

The Uruguayan market is characterized by its openness towards Argentine companies in general, and provides a favorable environment  for small- and medium-sized firms from our province to conduct their first export activities.

The present context holds the promise of a strong place for our companies in the autoparts market, especially in the automotive aftermarket, and also in the furniture sector. In the case of both industries, the offer can be adapted with better logistics options, higher volumes of delivery, and competitive prices, with traditional competitors coming from Asian countries and Brazil.

Patria Muebles' Roberto Patria commented,

In our case, the trade mission was highly successful, considering that we reached a ‘pre-agreement' with a firm that commercializes furniture and decoration items and has 22 stores all around Uruguay. We were very well received, thanks to the work of the Argentine Embassy. Our designs were liked, as were the prices, which are in line with market requirements. I will say that this was an excellent trade mission."

Faesa's Mariano Cassanelli, for his part, said,

The agenda was very interesting for our company. The Embassy treated us very well. They kept us informed about our schedule and coordinated timetables effectively. We established contacts with three firms with whom there is a strong chance of closing deals, after our products have been validated so that we can become suppliers."

The chemical products sector also discovered potential market niches in the healthcare and pool maintenance industries. Regarding the latter, in particular, the novelty of the product offered by a Cordobese firm led to good outcomes.

On the other hand, companies working in technology development for HR advisory services also ended the mission with good prospects of working with partners in the sector.
