We Participated in the 3rd Meeting of the Federal Network of Investment and Foreign Trade Agencies and Organizations

The Argentine Investment and Trade Promotion Agency (in Spanish, AAICI) brought together over 40 representatives from member provinces of the Federal Network of Investment and Foreign Trade Agencies and Organizations in an event held in San Juan. The goal of the meeting was to discuss investment and trade promotion strategies for regional SMEs.

Currently, the Network has 18 member provinces (Jujuy, La Rioja, Neuquén, San Juan, Buenos Aires, Corrientes, Santiago del Estero, Salta, Tucumán, Mendoza, Chaco, Tierra del Fuego, Chubut, Córdoba, Misiones and Santa Fe) and the City of Buenos Aires.

Córdoba Province was represented by authorities of ProCórdoba Agency: General Manager Roberto Rossotto and Trade Promotion Department Manager Luis Gilli.

The event, whose purpose was to enable the sharing of experiences and information regarding progress made so far, was one of a series of activities that the National Government is carrying out as part of its National Production Plan with the goal of accelerating the development of the country and generating more and better job opportunities.

A participant in the event, Economic Policy Secretary Alejandro Moreno said,

"The Agua Negra Tunnel is a fundamental project not only for the province but for the whole world, because it will allow reaching other markets faster. This mega construction means the inclusion of San Juan in the international market.”

The event also welcomed AAICI Chief Economist Martín Polo, who gave a presentation about today’s economic situation and 2018 prospects, and Aldo Javier López , of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship, who spoke about negotiations and trade agreements in today’s context.

Also worth highlighting are the presentation given by AAICI Communication Manager Denise Cancian on how communication can strengthen the strategy of the Federal Network, and the presentation given by the agency’s Enabling Manager Jennifer Parra on how to gather information regarding possible hurdles so as to reduce the red tape.

Interesting activities took place during the afternoon. Worth noting is an investment workshop whose participants included Inter-American Bank of Development Advisory Consultant Patrick Daily and Fabián Ejarque, who gave a presentation on how Project Banks can be an effective tool for developing investment opportunities. A workshop on exports also took place, which specifically shared information on the progress of national programs such as Buy Argentina, Buenas Prácticas Exportadoras (Good Practices in Export) and Mujeres Exportadoras (Women Exporters), among others.

There followed a presentation of the guidelines for the 2018 Plan, led by Trade Coordination Director Juan Pablo Campetella, Project and Trade Coordination Coordinator Juan Ignacio González and AAICI Industrial Manager Santiago Rubio.

The Federal Network of Investment and Foreign Trade Agencies and Organizations, which depends on the AAICI, was established in September 2016 with the goal of generating communications, processes and interaction formats between the Nation and the provinces in order to improve business, and facilitate investments and foreign trade.
