Presentation of “Grupo SEA”: Emergency Supplies and Humanitarian Aid

On December 17th, ProCórdoba Agency presented the Export Group “Grupo SEA” (Emergency Supplies and Humanitarian Aid) to Pablo De Chiara, the Secretary of Industry. At a meeting, where Roberto Rossotto  (General Manager of ProCórdoba Agency), Viviana Arias (Manager of Cooperation and International Relations) and representatives of the companies that make up this Export Group (Inforest, R&O Valle, Guma SA, Savant, Cisgroup and MR Technologies) were present.

The export group that has been recently created is made up of six export companies from Córdoba. They are able to supply products, services, and solutions related to prevention, emergencies and assistance at adverse events and natural disasters. That is to say, the group is able to provide a supply line that includes: Comprehensive Fire Control; Fluid Measurement & Fluid Control; Health and Hygiene; Telecommunications Engineering and Medical Equipment.

The companies that participate in Grupo SEA are regarded as reliable supplier companies of the United Nations. What they have in common is that they have a great international experience at Latin American markets. They are innovative companies with the ability to adapt their products, provide solutions and meet different types of needs.

At the meeting, the Secretary of Industry has been explained that the aim  was to show this innovative group to the Government of the Province, which is promoted and led by ProCórdoba Agency that wants to contribute to the public-private link and the addressing of these issues putting emphasis on what the private sector can contribute to.

The provincial authority really got to know about the offer of the Group and of each company and then it said:

“In Córdoba, the diversity and the willingness to create new spaces are surprising. We strongly believe that we have to work on that, fix our offer and try to create more and more value and look for associative groups. For example, the fact that there are relations between a telecommunication company and a pharmaceutical one is unbelievable. When does one think of this being successful? However, there are connections that mean everything. With the great work performed by ProCórdoba that detects these opportunities around the world, it is possible for different companies to have connections. It is possible to help people who are in trouble.”

It is important to say that from ProCórdoba Agency, the aim is to contribute to raising awareness about the magnitude of these challenges related to humanitarian aid, natural disasters and importance of the link with the private sector. For this, the participation of companies in the most important fairs worldwide has been facilitated. A Manual about Acquisitions of Humanitarian Supplies has been made and the creation of  Grupo SEA has been promoted. For this reason, it is foreseen to conduct a Reverse Mission in Córdoba, during the second term of 2016 to strengthen actions.
