Increased by 16% exports from Córdoba to Southeast Asia

It should be emphasized that, although exports from Córdoba had only an interannual increase of 0.1%, exports to the bloc increased by 16% from $ 923 million in 2012 to 1,072,000 dollars in 2013.

From the managements of International Relations and Cooperation and Technical & Commercial Information, it has been tracking this important and strategic market for the purpose of assessing trends of exported products.

Performing a more profound analysis it was found that the main export destination of Cordoba in the ASEAN group was Indonesia with an export value in 2013 of $ 359 million, followed by Vietnam (313 Million Dollars), Thailand (218 Million Dollars), Malaysia (144 Million Dollars), Philippines (20 Million Dollars), Singapore (14 Million), Brunei (376,000 dollars) and Myanmar ($ 6,000).

In the majority of the cases, the member countries of this Economic Bloc have increased their share of exports of Córdoba as is the case of Indonesia that went from being ranked 14th in the ranking of cities in Córdoba in 2009, to fill the position number 5 with an increase for the period 2009 to 2013 of 84% in exports.

 Vietnam and Thailand also recorded increases in the ranking, going from 25th and 15th place to 7th and 12th respectively for the period 2009-2013.

In the case of Malaysia in spite of recording a drop in the rankings as 10th to 22th increased its exports by 34%.

A breakdown of exports of the Province of Córdoba in the ASEAN block by Major Categories, it is highlighted the exports of Manufactures of Agricultural Origin ($912 million), followed by Primary Products ($ 151 million) and Manufacturing of Industrial Origin (9 million dollars).

 

It is important to remark that the 3 Major Categories have increased their exports standing out the Manufacturing of Industrial Origin which increased by 162% from 2009 to 2013.
